TMI Tuesday #160

1. Ever been skinny dipping?  Yes.  A few times when I was a teenager.  As an adult, in the hot tub at our last house.

2. How often do you kiss or make out without it simply being a foreplay activity?  I kiss Alec every opportunity I get.  But making out?  Almost always leads to something more.  So it’s not often that we make out and leave it at that.

3. On a scale of 1-10, how content are you with your life? (1 is lowest, 10 is highest) Do you think ‘content’ and ‘happy’ the same thing?  I would say I’m at an 8.  There are a few things going on in my life now that are not to my liking.  But I’m working on them and trying not to let the bad parts out weigh the good things.  I do not think being happy and being content are the same thing.  I think you can be content with your life without necessarily being happy.

4. What do you do to relieve stress?  Have sex, drink, go out with friends, veg in front of the TV.

5. What was the special trait in your first lover that made you decide that they were “the one?”  I don’t think I ever thought of my first lover as “the one.”  I decided to have sex with him simply to get the first time out of the way (romantic, no?).  Though Alec wasn’t my first, I knew he was “the one” because I couldn’t bear to be away from him.  I wanted to spend every moment with him.  That feeling hasn’t lessened over the 15 years we’ve been together. 

Bonus: How old were you when you first had sex? (positive experiences here…)  I was 15.  It was ridiculous.  I distinctly remember thinking, “If this is sex, I’m not impressed.” 

Wednesday Weirdness

I’m having a bit of trouble thinking of something good to write about so I’m resorting to filling out a meme to put *something* up here.

1.) As an adult, do you do anything for Halloween or is it just another day?
I love Halloween.  I would dress up more often if I had a place to go in costume.  This year I will actually be dressing up as the girls and I have a Halloween party we’re attending.

2.) Do you ever dress up for Halloween? What will be your costume this year?
Yes, I do dress up occasionally.  This year I’ll be wearing a long black “Gothic” hooded robe, fake eyelashes, and a fresh shock of pink in my hair.

3.) Have you started Christmas shopping yet? When do you usually begin?
I do actually have two Christmas presents purchased.  I normally start trying to buy stuff around this time of year.  I always end up leaving the hardest to buy for people to the very end and getting desperate for a present idea.

4.) Do you look people in the eye when talking? Does it bother you when people don’t make eye contact during conversation?
I do try to make eye contact while I’m talking.  It does bother me sometimes if people don’t make eye contact with me while they’re talking as I get the impression that they’re not concentrating on our conversation.

5.) What excuse do you usually use when you want to take a day off work for no real reason?
Uh…  I can’t take a day off of work.  As a stay-at-home mom, I don’t get vacation days!  If I do need a break, it’s because my kids are driving me crazy and that’s the excuse I use.

6.) How often, on average, do you find yourself thinking about sex per day?
Depends on the day I think, perhaps on the amount of hormones coursing through me.  But if I’m supposed to be averaging things out, I’d say twice a day.

7.) What company makes your favorite brand of shoes? What makes them your favorite?
While I love shoes, I’m not much of a connoisseur of them.  I don’t pay much attention to brands, I just buy what I like and can afford.

8.) Do you ever save alcohol bottles once they are empty?
No.  I can’t stand keeping useless (to me) clutter around (though you’d never know that by the state of my house).  I recycle them.

9.) Do you enjoy musicals?
I do enjoy musicals but I don’t actively seek them out.  Alec does NOT enjoy musicals so it isn’t often that I would get the opportunity to see one.

Coy’s first meme

1.   I have a strong dislike/fear of bathrooms with small turquoise/aquamarine and white tiles.  I have no idea why.
2.  I love having my girls sleep in my room.  I realize this isn’t weird to everyone but most people who hear that my 6 year old and 2 1/2 year old sleep in my room/bed look at me like I have three heads.  Personally, I think there’s nothing better than waking up to two happy, beautiful, funny girls in the morning.
3.  I CANNOT have a straw that’s in a drink pointing towards my eye.  Alec thinks this is hilarious.  I think I’m saving myself from needless eye injuries.
4.  My silly daily indulgence:  Perez Hilton.
5.  I have breastfed for a total (between my two kids) of 51 months so far.
6.  I met Alec through a local dial-up BBS back in the day.
7.  I climbed the Nohoch Mul pyramid in Mexico.  I think that day was quite possibly the hottest day I have ever experienced.  The climb up wasn’t nearly as scary as the climb down.  The view from the top was magnificent.
