Today is my birthday so instead of toiling over taking pictures tonight, I’m going to use one taken a while ago and go have sex with my husband instead.

1. What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? Stuffing! I like the dangerous kind that’s cooked inside the turkey.
2. You can flip a switch that will wipe any band or musical artist out of existence. Which one will it be? Wow. This is a tough one. I was going to say Poison but they’ve passed their prime and are fading away quite nicely on their own. So who will be? Maybe Barry Manilow. He just came out with a new monstrosity of an album, The Greatest Hits of the Eighties (covers of others’ songs). Truly awful. Great. Now I have Copa Cabana stuck in my head.
3. You seem to be having an excellent day because you just came across a hundred-dollar bill on the sidewalk. Holy crap, a hundred bucks! How are you gonna spend it? More knee socks, coffee, and dinner out.
4. What is your favorite curse word? I’ll probably have to go with ‘fuck’. But since I have kids and choose not to swear around them, my favorite replacement swear word is ‘crap’.
5. Rufus appears out of nowhere with a time-traveling phone booth. You can go anytime in the PAST. What time are you traveling to and what are you going to do when you get there? I would go back to see my aunt who has passed away. I’d make sure to let her know just how special she was to me. (Do we get bonus points for this question if we actually know who Rufus is?) Bonus (as in optional): You accidentally eat some radioactive vegetables. They were good, and what’s even cooler is that they endow you with the super-power of your choice! What’s it gonna be? Super strength. I could help people and get quite a bit done around my own house!

A couple of weeks ago I drug a friend of mine to the local Lovers store to browse a bit. The Fusion Edition Gemini is made by Evolved Novelties. The packaging is eye-catching. Each toy comes in its own tin box. I’m a girly girl and am a sucker for pretty things. Lovers had a Gemini out on their display table so I was able to hold it and check it out before I decided to buy it. This is a double ended vibrator with separate controls for each end. It’s like two toys in one – score! The Gemini is controlled by two buttons, one for each end. You simply push the button to turn it on, cycle through the settings, and continue pressing to turn it off. Each end has three settings.
The long end has graduated bumps and a curved end. Great for g-spot stimulation but also good for clitoral stimulation. The vibration choices on this end are low, medium, high.
The short end (which houses the controls) has a typical rounded vibrator shape. This end can be inserted (though there’s less insertable length on this end as opposed to the other) as well as used externally. Vibrations on this end are more pulse-like. Choices include a double pulse, two short pulses followed by a third longer pulse, and then a gradually building pulse. When I have mine set on the last selection (gradual build up) it makes a cool high-tech noise. Freaked me out at first but now I like it.
This has become a favorite vibrator of mine for a number of reasons. I love the silky smooth feel of the outside (phthalate-free, thank you very much), the color is beautiful, the controls are simple, it’s waterproof, and most importantly, it gets me off! The first time I used it, I cranked the bumpy end up to high and worked on my g-spot. This felt wonderful in concert with Alec rubbing my clit and sucking on my nipples. The next time I used it, I focused the rounded end on my clit. I used the gradually increasing pulse setting and oh my goodness, it was heavenly! Sometimes I have a hard time working up to an orgasm with a pulse setting like that but this was different. The pulse is quite strong. I enjoyed the build up and I was able to keep the vibrator on my clit even after I came, riding the wave of the pulses. This is a great toy for the girl who can’t make up her mind or is easily bored. Something not working for you? Change up the setting, flip the Gemini over! No need to dig around for another toy, you’ve already got two in your hand.
The only thing I wasn’t thrilled with in regards to this toy is the fact that it takes four AAA batteries. We don’t often have AAA batteries around here but I’ll be sure to stock up now!
I was quite impressed with this toy and hope to try something else from Evolved Novelties soon. In the meantime, I’m sure I’ll be busy breaking my new Gemini in.
